Lesson 2: Module D | The Why
Lesson 2: Module D
In Module D we discuss what it means to have a set of principles, versus applying a specific method. In order to best serve our clients and patients, we need to ask ourselves the "why" behind our interventions.
Thoughts - Painting yourself in a corner taking prescribing to one method. Paying money and becoming financially invested in one system. On the flip side someone selling something to make money and not be necessarily true. You’re in it to make money not help. Theranos example. Makes you close-minded.
Subscribing to certain schools of thought pigeonholes you into that type of thinking. Frame to view the client through. A belief system created to exam the client through. We can’t all be right
Seek and Dystroy - Find the problem and fix it Forget to realize there’s a huge variance from human to human and that we are looking at the person in front of us not just their issues
Training the person. Broadening your worldview. Finding ways to connect. We can learn about how to improve someone’s internal rotation all day long. It a person isn’t their internal rotation.
