The Resilient Training Lab Podcast: Episode 15

Paul, Ryan, and Eric are back with part 2 of the Efficiency vs Effectiveness episode. In episode 15, they continue their discussion on why it is important to always be learning, challenge your own beliefs, and try to be less wrong every day. It is easy to confirm your own beliefs and biases, but it is our epistemological responsibility to actively seek resources that disprove or update our beliefs. They also talk about being a strength coach or health profession for the right reasons versus just being in it for the money. You need to be invested in the well-being of your clients and not just focus on the paycheck that you get at the end of the week. In order to be the best coach and health professional and to serve your clients in the best way possible, you need to keep learning and updating your beliefs and practices. Getting stuck with one method or way of doing things is doing a disservice to your clients. Maybe it works for a short period of time but in the long run, your client is going to stop progressing and won't reach their goals. They are paying you to help them so you must do your duty in order to best serve them. This was another great episode from these 3 that has some really important takeaways.
