“I have been participating in various forms of exercise since my late 20's. I am now 57 years of age. I was a runner for many years until various injuries turned me into a walker and sometimes jogger. I started working with Coach Paul in the middle of June 2018. Weight training was not something I sought out until I saw an amazingly wonderful and strong group of people working hard and making magnificent strides. I knew wanted to get into weight training when I saw the energy in the room at Resilient Training Lab.
I had been afraid of the big two lower-body moves, the squat and deadlift. Actually, I had never performed a deadlift prior to training at RTL, due to past major injuries and surgeries. Through with a very structured and formulated approach, I have worked squats and deadlifts into my program and my body is all the better for it. I am confident that the more I work these moves, the less prone I will be to injury in the future, and the more confident I become, the better I am at executing these moves. Paul and his team at Resilient are remarkably insightful and very willing to adapt a program when I am struggling with a setback due to fatigue or injury. They have worked very closely with me to make certain I have the tools to use to modify an exercise or a training cycle so that I keep moving and keep training. They are highly motivated to see their clients succeed. This comes from a genuine place of kindness that is rare. Paul’s love for this sport and passion for coaching was obvious from the first time I met him. Walking into a weight room at Resilient Training Lab is like walking into an open invitation to become confident and strong.” - Shari
