“I have been involved in fitness, either personally or professionally, for the last 25+ years. I say this only to bring attention to the fact that I have seen trainers come and go. Education in the field of personal training is vital if you want to find and keep success. For these reasons, I had my doubts about signing on with anyone. Admittedly I thought I knew more and my level of trust was weak. After speaking with a few people who I believed in (results speak volumes), I asked the coaches at Resilient Training Lab if we could meet. Having run marathons/half marathons, competed in powerlifting, Spartan Races and any other form of physical activity I was curious to hear Paul’s thoughts and philosophies. It’s one thing to talk about a program, but another to write it, implement it and justify it through sound educational philosophies. The RTL coaches checked all of my boxes.
They have provided me with valuable insight throughout our time together. Probably one of the best aspects of our coach/client relationship are the conversations. Of course, there are times when we do not agree and that is the beauty of his coaching. The coaches welcome “talking shop” and open to ideas. They have always been approachable to not only their clients but to anyone who reaches out. They follow what I believe to be the key to a healthy coach/client relationship: 1) Observe 2) Evaluation 3) Implementation 4) Follow-Up.
Most recently I returned to the platform and competed in my first powerlifting meet in 18 years. The coaches took the time to guide me, make changes when applicable but more importantly see the bigger picture in my training. That day I went 8/9 and after missing my last attempt I apologized to Paul. I felt I had let him down by missing. In true Paul fashion, he laughed, patted me on the back and told me what a great day I had. I say this only to bring to light the connection you will have with him as your coach.
Resilient Training Lab is a true bright spot in the field of fitness. I have seen them help very accomplished strength athletes and those brand new to fitness. Their talents are broad, professionalism on point and he really does have your best interest at heart.” -Kevin E.
