“When I first started training with Paul almost 4 years ago, I was on the verge of taking a break from strength training. The stress of going from 1 child to 3 children and the challenges of being a foster parent had me at a breaking point. I couldn't get through my workouts without crying. I told Paul I was too stressed, and the pressure of hitting my percentages for reps and sets felt like the last straw. I had only been training with Paul for a month or two, so we were still getting to know each other, but he confidently told me he thought I would regret it if I stopped altogether. Paul worked with me to shorten my program so I could be in an out of the gym in an hour and would only train 2x/week. He encouraged me and supported me to give my all during these short, but impactful lifting sessions. That year taught me the power of having a great coach, following a prescribed program, giving your all (even if it was only 2x/week), and how amazing our minds and our bodies are. That year was the most stressful, challenging, yet rewarding year of my life. With Paul's support and coaching, I grinded in the gym and was able to continue to hit PRs in all of my lifts.

Almost exactly a year later, I competed at a powerlifting meet where I hit the 1000 pound total I had worked so hard for. I missed my first squat at 340 due to depth. I hit that on the second attempt. Paul challenged and supported me as I did a side single at 365 and then attempted 395 for my final attempt. I hit that PR, and that set the tone for the rest of my meet. That is what Paul does. Paul knows his athletes. He knows our strengths, our struggles, and our successes. This enables Paul to push us, but more importantly, he teaches us to push ourselves. Paul is continually learning more about his field of expertise to best program and coach us. I trust Resilient Training Lab implicitly with my programming and training. They have kept me injury-free and progressing in my strength for almost 4 years. Equally as important, the coaches have modeled and taught me how to have a more positive, healthy mindset around lifting, around pain, around nutrition, and around failure. While strength is critical to my health and well being, the lessons I have learned and the habits the Resilient team have instilled in me are invaluable.” - Christine
