Episode 5 is now out! Eric Lagoy, RTL coach and head of programming, joins us again to continue our conversation about back pain. Eric is an OCS board certified physical therapist who specializes in treating barbell athletes and field athletes. Eric is part of Clinical Athlete and is also an adjunct professor at Quinnipiac University. In episode 5, Eric talks about he manages his clients with low back pain, especially in regard to lifters. His approach focuses more on movement rather than passive modalities. Eric talks about he manipulates training variables in order to keep lifters lifting and prevent them from detraining as they manage low back pain symptoms. Nocebo and placebo are also covered in this discussion along with how healthcare providers and coaches should help to empower their clients and promote self-efficacy rather than having clients and patients depend on them for everything.
