The Resilient Training Lab Podcast: Episode 11
Dr. Mike Velasquez is our guest on Episode 11 of The Resilient Training Lab Podcast. Mike received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of Connecticut and is a physical therapist at Gaylord Hospital. This episode covers his education in physical therapy school as well as the ways he continues to focus on continuing his education by staying up-to-date on research, shadowing other clinicians, and taking online courses. Mike goes into how he decided to go to school for physical therapy and his experience in the program at UCONN. The biggest thing that he goes into detail about is the importance of continuing his education after school and during his career in order to become a more educated and skilled clinician. School is great for helping you to pass the tests and boards, but when it comes to real life and dealing with real people, there is more that needs to be delved into and more to learn. Listen to hear all about Mike's experience and advice on how to become better educated. He has some awesome resources that he lists that are also linked below.
